#ThrowbackThursday - Icon Edition

2000 Icon 1.8

This week our throwback is one of the teenage MX-5 models, at a spirited 16 years of age! Coincidentally we have one on our forecourt!

This model was finished in Art Vin Rouge and only 750 units were made. 15” alloys with low profile tyres were put on the car as standard.

The interior trim was given Champagne coloured leather seats with matching centre console and door trim.

This model is very distinctive as it is not a very common colour in which Mazda finished many of there model with. The Vin Rouge Mica was inspired initially from something most of us love! Wine! Giving the car a sense of decadence with the champagne coloured interior, there is a theme isn't there?? This is why we threw back to this model, not just because we have it for sale on our forecourt. This car is very pretty and something that if looked after could make you a bucket in the future! Looking after your MX-5 and protecting it against rust( hopefully future rust) can be just a simple thing as making sure the drain holes are clear by cleaning them out every month or so.

Working with MX-5's for over 15 years, means MX5 City have seen many times that the water from the drain holes can be a common cause of the rear wheel arches having excessive rust. So that's a little tip for you there!
