#ThrowbackThursday V- Special Edition

There aren't many models that are snapped up from the forecourt as fast as the Mk1 Eunos V-special. We should know this as on MX5 City's forecourt they sell in a flash, literally. So in honour of one of the most popular models we just wanted to write a whole blog about it.

These editions were produced for the Japanese market, but have proven over the last couple of decades to be very popular in the UK especially. The paint colour which Mazda named Neo Green is the colour we Brits have come to know as British Racing Green, which the Limited edition UK spec was finished in. The Green exterior complimented with tan leather seats and more often than not a tan hood and accessorised with wooden trimming gives it a great sense of the classic British sports car.

While only being a 1.6 this edition comes with an extra bite as Mazda rewardingly decided to give this edition a limited slip differential as standard. This car very much encapsulates the classic sports car look that Mazda were looking for, so maybe this is why it is so popular? The Mk1 model is very sought after and buying into the NA model (1989-1998) is a great investment, as the 1990-1991 version are classic cars now. So go for it buying into a Mk1 now will only see the value of the car appreciate.

Of course the roadsters have to be in top condition to reach its value, this is why the imports are very much looked for and fetch a great price because of the condition. We all love the UK but the weather and the use of grit on the roads greatly affects any car, especially with issues such as rust in the sills and wheel arches.(check out our rusty sill and rear wing page) This is why they are priced so high when imported over here, but they are worth every penny because as long as you look after them their value will just keep on appreciating over time!
