Mazda MX5 Triple Header Finale at Silverstone International This Weekend!!

Mazda MX5 Triple Header Finale at Silverstone International This Weekend!!

It’s been a rollercoaster ride of skill, superiority and all weather action over the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Supercup and Championship season, full of high energy racing and head to head theatrics. But all good things must come to an end, and this weekend, the 15th and 16th October, the Silverstone International circuit, and finale of the season, is gearing up to be one of the closest calls we’ve ever seen.

Just 60 glorious minutes of racing remain for the Supercup and MX5 City sponsored driver Jonathan Greensmith will battle it out for a podium place. With under 30 points separating Greensmith from the top two spots, and with over 300 points on the table at Silverstone, it looks like there is a fighting chance for the ever consistent Sheffield racer to pull out all the stops and head to victory. But there will be no shortage of excitement on the tarmac of the Silverstone International circuit as the competitive rumble of 30 drivers threaten to upset the balance and provide spectators and fans with a truly exhilarating display. It’s the final we have all been waiting for, and what better place to conclude a season so full of twists and turns, than at ‘The Home of British Motorsport’.

In the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Championship, we can expect the same high tension motoring, especially after the excellent performance from MX5 City sponsored driver Joshua Brent, who impressed critics and spectators alike with his powerful and determined display at Rockingham in the Group B race. The son of Go4itRacing’s Kevin Brent, owned the circuit at Rockingham with his first race win after just his second weekend racing in the championship. Unfortunately, Martin Tolley is still out of action following injury, one that we hope he recovers from soon, but Andrew Adams will once again be contributing to the excitement after a solid run at Rockingham also.

The final at Silverstone International proves to be the highlight of an already monumentous season, with a showdown of the highest calibre. Good luck to all the drivers, we can’t wait for the battle and the results!
